Hello!

My name is Emily, and I’m so so happy to finally be able to share this with you! I have been working on this site for a long time, and if I’m honest I’ve been putting off launching it because I’m a little scared.

But the best time to do something that scares you is right now, so here we are!

I have wanted a space to be able to curate all my favourite things – be that adventures, recipes, outfits, or anything else – for ages, and this blog will be just that.

I have brought over all my blog posts from my previous blog, and have been writing some new ones so there is plenty for you to read!

Go ahead and explore the site, and feel free to comment any feedback, send me an email, or contact me on any of my social media. All the links are below ☺️

Be sure to sign up to my email newsletter to be the first to hear about new posts, and to be the first to know when my shop is up and running (coming soon)!

Thank you so very much for being here, and I hope we can be friends ☺️

My First Pumpkin!

My First Pumpkin!

Hey lovelies!

So…confession time. Before this Halloween, I had never carved a pumpkin.

I know, I know. Shocking, right?

Growing up, my family never really celebrated Halloween, and so I never got the opportunity to carve a pumpkin. To be honest, I never really saw the appeal. It just seemed like a lot of effort and a bit of a waste.

However, this year I finally did it! I lost my carving virginity, and it was so much fun! I tried to recreate Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I have to say, I think I did a pretty good job.

[foogallery id=”1074″]

Nathan joined me, and carved the Jack-o-lantern from his favourite video game, Destiny.

It was a really fun experience, and they both looked so good lit up on our windowsill. I can’t wait to do it again next year!

Did you carve a pumpkin this year? If so, let me know what you carved in the comments!

Love always,

Emily ❤

Autumn 2018 Lookbook

Autumn 2018 Lookbook

Hey lovelies!

Seeing as it’s currently the most amazing season of the year, I thought I would share some of my current favourite outfits with you all.

Let’s start with the coat. This coat was an absolute steal from Primark. I usually wouldn’t go for a coloured coat, but a new season is the time to change things up! I’ve paired it with this gorgeous scarf (also from Primark), but it looks amazing without.

Underneath I’ve got this beautiful jumper from H&M – it’s soft and fluffy without being itchy which is a massive bonus. I’ve paired the jumper with my American Eagle boyfriend jeans (similar), and my favourite Topshop trainers (similar) to complete the look.

[foogallery id=”1066″]

Next up is another beautiful jumper from H&M. Yes, I know, it’s very similar to the black one, but it’s so gorgeous I couldn’t resist. I’ve paired this with my American Eagle dark wash jeans, and my ASOS chelsea boots.

[foogallery id=”1067″]

Last up is this amazing flannel, also from H&M. It’s big and oversized and comfy and I’m absolutely in love with it. A plaid shirt is always the perfect wardrobe addition for autumn, you simply cannot go wrong.

I paired this with my American Eagle black ripped jeans (similar) and my favourite Topshop trainers for a more relaxed look.

Love always,

Emily ❤

The BEST Autumnal Cookies

IMG_9668

The Best Autumnal Cookies

Hey lovelies!

Today I decided to do some autumnal baking, and the results were so good I couldn’t resist sharing them with you!

These oatmeal, apple, and raisin cookies are absolutely delicious, and perfect for an autumn afternoon snack!

I only made a couple of adjustments to the original recipe, which you can find >>here<<

I swapped out the butter for a vegan spread, and added about 4-5 handfuls of raisins. I wasn’t originally planning on using raisins, but I didn’t have enough apple and oatmeal raisin is a classic!

[foogallery id=”1082″]

I usually wouldn’t put icing on a cookie like this, so I was a bit apprehensive when the recipe called for it. But after I tried it, I was completely convinced. The icing is what brings the whole cookie together, it adds a sweetness that combines so well with the apple and raisins…yum!

[foogallery id=”1083″]

Be warned, though…this recipe makes a LOT of cookies. I think I ended up with three dozen or so!

What’s your favourite cookie to bake? Let me know in the comments!

Love always,

Emily ❤

Autumnal Home Touches

Autumnal Home Touches

Hey lovelies!

It’s AUTUMNNNNN!!!! My favourite time of year has finally arrived, and I am so excited to be able to wear all of my favourite knitwear and to be able to cuddle up in a blanket without sweating!

To celebrate I decided to take a trip to Home Sense and pick up a few autumnal decorations for our home. I also ended up getting a few other things, as Home Sense is just too good!

The first thing I picked up was this super cute felt pumpkin garland that I thought would look amazing hanging over our fireplace. I also saw this little wooden deer and fell completely in love with him, especially considering he’s perfect for autumn and Christmas, so I got him too.

I then wandered into the candle section, and I nearly died. I had such a hard time limiting myself to only a few candles…I could easily have spent way too much money in this one section! I picked up a Mountain Lodge Fireside candle for the living room, which smells like you’re sat by a campfire in the middle of the woods. I also grabbed a couple of small candles for my office: one Woody Cinnamon and one Apple Spice. Lastly, I got a Spiced Apple reed diffuser, as I wanted my living room to smell like autumn all day long ❤

I also picked up a few other things that we needed for our house. I got this gorgeous colander, a new knife set (they are incredible), and a tracker water bottle for Nathan as he is the worst when it comes to drinking enough water!

Lastly, I grabbed a couple of treats. I got some Guylain chocolate-covered cranberries, and some Whittard mint hot chocolate….yummmmmm.

[foogallery id=”1059″]

There was so much more I wanted to buy, but I’m really happy with how my living room looks all decorated!

Love always,

Emily ❤

Ulta and Sephora Haul

IMG_9579

Ulta & Sephora Haul

Hey lovelies!

During my trip to California I decided to pick up a few beauty bits and bobs from Sephora and Ulta Beauty, as sadly we don’t have those stores here in the UK!

First stop: Ulta Beauty. The first thing I decided to get was this strange-looking egg white ‘perfect nose kit.‘ I actually have no idea what it is, but I’m assuming it’s some sort of pore strip kit. I picked it up because honestly it intrigued me!

I also grabbed a few Tony Moly sheet masks, as they were on offer (score!), and who doesn’t love a good sheet mask? I picked up the Avocado, Rice, and Calendula ones.

[foogallery id=”1053″]

After Ulta I visited Sephora, where I got even more goodies!

Again, my first instinct was to go for some face masks. I picked up the Rose eye mask, as I have never used an eye mask before, and thought it would be a great thing to have after a long-haul flight!

I also got a couple of their sleeping masks, as I’ve been loving the low-maintenance side of a sleeping mask. I picked up the Green Tea and Pomegranate ones.

Another product I picked up was their Lipstories satin lipstick in the shade 10 – it’s a beautiful deep brown colour.

And of course, as soon as I saw the Fenty Beauty stand I had to check out the Stunna Lip Paint. I immediately fell head over heels in love, and I couldn’t walk away from it.

Love always,

Emily ❤

Bath and Body Works Haul

IMG_9563

Bath and Body Works Haul

Hey lovelies!

Whilst I was in California, I couldn’t resist going into Bath and Body Works. I mean, it’s one of the things I miss the most, and they don’t yet ship to the UK, so it was inevitable.

I was slightly limited by the weight restrictions of my suitcase, but that wasn’t going to stop me from stocking up on candles. I was really lucky as well, as I happened to be there at the time of their semi-annual sale!

My top priority was their Christmas candles. I am completely obsessed with them, and have yet to find a Christmas candle that I like as much as their Fresh Balsam. I’m really specific when it comes to Christmas candles – I don’t like anything too sweet or spicy, and I want it to smell real. I only got a couple, as I might have already got a small stockpile from when my mum has come to visit – thanks mum! I bought a Fresh Balsam and a Winter, and also picked up a Winter Cypress (similar) hand soap.

The next thing I picked up was a Mahogany Teakwood candle (or two). Anyone who knows me knows that this is my all-time favourite candle. If you want your house to smell like a really attractive man lives there, burn this candle.

I wanted to pick up a summery candle, as most of the candles I usually go for in BBW are autumnal or Christmassy, and I settled on Endless Weekend (sold out) – it smells amazing.

I also picked up a few smaller candles to burn in my office – I chose Golden Jasmine, Mahogany Teakwood (of course), and Eucalyptus Mint.

Finally, I grabbed a couple of their body lotions, because you can never have too many! I chose Wild Rose and Apple, and Chamomile and Honey – both are light and floral, and not too sweet.

All in all, it was a damn good haul, and I’m super excited to start burning these candles!

What’s your favourite candle scent? Let me know in the comments!

Love always,

Emily ❤

A California Homecoming

IMG_6460

A California Homecoming

Hey lovelies!

This June I visited California for the first time since I moved back to the UK. It was a surreal experience, as it felt like somewhat of a homecoming, even though California never really felt like home whilst I was living there.

I went for my baby sister’s high school graduation (congrats, Sissybutt!), and brought Nathan along with me to show him the place where I ‘grew up.’

The whole thing was kind of a strange experience, as I’ve changed so much since moving back to the UK, and I could feel myself almost reverting to my sixteen-year-old self whilst we were there!

Northern California is truly a beautiful place (even if it is about a million degrees in the summer), and I’d almost forgotten just how gorgeous the surroundings are.

There were a few must-eats, like In-N-Out Burger and Krispy Kreme…

[foogallery id=”1041″]

After all, you haven’t really been to America without burgers and doughnuts, right? And I had to show Nathan the best of each, so it’s completely justified…right?

It was wonderful to be able to show Nathan the place where I used to live, and where our relationship actually blossomed (long-distance relationships can work, after all)! Being able to share this part of my life with him was by far one of my favourite parts of the trip.

[foogallery id=”1042″]

Of course, the trip wasn’t complete without a reunion with my three best friends. These guys are truly the most incredible people, and I feel so lucky to have them in my life. Yes, long-distance friendships suck, but I know no matter how much time passes between visits, we will always be best friends.

And, of course, being reunited with my puppy after three long years was one of the best feelings of all time ❤

[foogallery id=”1043″]

I also put together a lookbook of some of my favourite outfits from the trip:

[foogallery id=”1044″]

Overall, it was an amazing trip, and it made me realise how much I actually missed being there.

Love always,

Emily ❤

I Want So Much More Than This Provincial Life

I Want So Much More Than This Provincial Life

Hello lovelies!

This week I wanted to write about a recent trip I took to Boulogne-Sur-Mer, France. It was a completely spontaneous day trip with my family whilst they were visiting from the US, but it was so much fun!

[foogallery id=”1014″]

It’s been about ten years or so since I was last in France, but this trip really reminded me of why I love the country so much (yes, I’m that girl). The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and Boulonge was such a cute, sleepy little town. I could definitely see myself living there.

[foogallery id=”1016″]

We had lunch at this little bistro (so French), and I of course opted for Italian food (don’t judge). Who knew the best pasta I’ve ever eaten would be eaten in France? Granted, I haven’t been to Italy, but I’m willing to bet my little carb-loving stomach would be very happy there.

[foogallery id=”1017″]

The town square was probably the cutest, most quintessentially French place I think I’ve ever been to. The architecture was stunning, and it was bordered by the most gorgeous flowers.

[foogallery id=”1018″]

From Boulonge we went and visited some friends in Samer and let me just say, their house is everything I wish my house could be (think French country chateau). It was also the perfect location for even more insta shots!

[foogallery id=”1019″]

Overall I had a wonderful day, and I definitely want to go back, and soon! Big thanks to the fambam for taking me on their wild adventure, it was a blast.

Love always,

Em xxx

Bagel For My Valentine

fullsizerender-22 (1)

Bagel for my Valentine

Hello lovely!

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s (or gal-entines, or pal-entines, or to-hell-with-love-entines) Day! Nathan and I went on our very first road trip to view some new houses not far from where we used to live, and whilst we were there we stopped at The Steamhouse.

[foogallery id=”1010″]

It was so worth the forty-five minute detour. I knew that I missed it, but had no idea how much until I was back there. It’s not just the bagels that make The Steamhouse incredible (although they are ah-mazing, and all hand baked!), it’s everything. The people, the vibe, the music, the friendly chatter and laughter.

[foogallery id=”1011″]

I remember first going there, probably almost a year to this day. I immediately felt comfortable, which is something I’ve never experienced with a cafe or restaurant. I remember they were playing John Mayer, and I thought to myself, I could definitely live here. Odd, I know, but hey, that’s what I thought! The strangest part? I felt like I’d been there before. That’s how instantaneously comfortable and at-home I felt.

Unsurprisingly, I became quite a regular customer and quickly developed a regular order: The Modest (with no cheese) and a San Pellegrino Limonata. The Modest is, in my opinion, their best bagel. I’ve tried many of them, but I always come back to The Modest – grilled chicken, mozzarella for the dairy tolerant, tomato, rocket leaves, and a pesto mayo that is nothing short of heavenly. Delicious.

I know what you’re probably thinking: how weird is it to be this obsessed with a bagel shop? and I know! I just simply can’t help it. I’ve tried and tried to find that same vibe and ease somewhere else, but nothing can beat The Steamhouse.

[foogallery id=”1012″]

Anyway, I’ll stop rambling on, but if you live near Leamington Spa, go visit! And whilst you’re there, tell them Emily misses them.
