Brunch is Always a Good Idea
This week my friend Claire and I decided to have a much-needed girlfriend day. This, for us, consisted of brunch, face masks, and films.
We found the cutest little bistro restaurant called Oscar and Bentley’s, and when I say cute I mean super cute. The best part of all? Their entire menu is gluten free, and everything they serve can be made dairy-free. This was the icing on top of the cake, as Claire is gluten intolerant and we’re both lactose intolerant.
We both ordered the Big Breakfast and, no joke, it was the best full English breakfast I’ve had in a long time, if not ever. I also got some apple and elderflower juice and once again, it was absolutely delicious.
After catching up (and chatting a little with our server), we came back to my place for our face mask and movie marathon. We chose What’s Your Number? and The DUFF (if you haven’t seen What’s Your Number? you’re missing out, it’s a national treasure) and donned our face masks. Claire had never done a mask before – what??? – so it was genuinely hilarious watching her try to eat with one on!
Quality friend time is most definitely time well spent. If you’re trying – or failing – to come up with something to do, remember:
Brunch is always a good idea.
